The same as PA sandwich belt, TC-belt also use NBR as surface cover material. And its core layer PET fabric, a very dimensional stable substance with 1% standard elongation rate, which makes TC-belt shows great performances in high speed running, medium-extreme duty application conditions. Another significant feature of polyester belt is their way of joint. For flat drive belts, usually there are three different methods for connecting- -finger jointing, skive/grind jointing, and lap jointing. Generally, PA sandwich belt is suitable for skive splicing, while TC-belt is connected through finger splicing.

When applying finger joint method, first have to consider whether the material owns the characteristics for being remelted or not, otherwise it will burn instead of melt. Materials as Polyester fabric, TPU, PVC etc is just satisfy the requirement for melting.

The way for finger splicing has several advantages: First, it’s easy and fast to join with only  little experience demand, by using a single action cutter to cut appropriate dimension fingers on two ends of the belt, to be suitable for being inserted into each other and “cooked” on press machine. And it does not need adhesive for the connecting. Further more, it makes polyester core belts have a smooth joint.
