Classification of silicone rubber base

1. Solid silicone rubber (HCR): Heat cured silicone rubber

Solid silicone rubber requires heating during curing. The curing reaction is catalyzed by organic peroxides or platinum, and the required mechanical strength of the vulcanizate can be achieved by adding reinforcing fillers. Here, fumed silica is highly suitable as a filler due to its large specific surface area (>100m2/g). At this point, precipitated silica, inactive fillers (quartz, diatomaceous earth), or special carbon black can also be added. HTV high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber is widely used due to its excellent performance, with a wide range of temperatures (from -50 ° C to -200 ° C, and can be extended to -90 ° C to -300 ° C if specially modulated). It has no physiological harm to the human body and excellent aging resistance. Thermosetting silicone rubber has a wide range of applications, including automotive manufacturing, electrical technology, medium and high voltage transmission technology, as well as construction, machinery and equipment manufacturing, food, healthcare, and medical technology.

2. Liquid silicone rubber (LSR): Heat cured liquid silicone rubber

Liquid silicone rubber also belongs to the thermosetting rubber category, and its viscosity and cross-linking can make it a material with special processing advantages. Compared to solid silicone rubber (HTV), its characteristic is low viscosity. Liquid silicone rubber is a two component mixture with pumpability, and ShinEtsu can provide ready to use products. Liquid silicone rubber is cured through addition crosslinking, with component A containing a platinum catalyst and component B containing a SiH functional polysiloxane that acts as a crosslinking agent. Unlike peroxide crosslinking, liquid silicone rubber does not produce any crosslinking agent by-products during curing.

Liquid silicone rubber has a wide range of applications, including automotive, machinery and equipment manufacturing, electrical technology, medium and high voltage transmission technology, as well as construction, food, healthcare, and medical technology. Especially in the field of automotive manufacturing, the fluorinated liquid silicone rubber produced by Xinyue has extremely high stability compared to gasoline, engine oil, or transmission oil.

3. Organic silicon gel

Organosilicon gel is a special RTV-2 (room temperature cross-linked two-component) silicone rubber, characterized by extremely low cross-linking density, which can be used to produce extremely soft vulcanizates below Shore A hardness. Organosilicon gel is often used as a damping material in the medical field, as well as a packaging material in the electrical and electronic fields. In these fields, this material is highly popular due to its minimal thermal pressure on the components included in the package during temperature fluctuations. Organosilicon gel, without exception, is an addition linked silicone rubber. Organic silicon gel is used in different industrial applications, such as automobile manufacturing, medium and high voltage power transmission technology, health care and medical technology. We also provide low-temperature gel and fluorinated materials especially for the automobile manufacturing industry.
